Liters in a gallon
There are 3.785411784 liters in a US gallon (liquid), and 4.54609 liters in an imperial gallon. A liter (L) is a metric measurement of volume. Knowing these relationships, to convert from a US gallon to a liter, we multiply by 3.785411784; to convert from a liter to a gallon, we divide by the same value. This process is the same for imperial gallons, except that we use 4.54609.
